Why Do I Need Winter Maintenance?

It’s been a usually mild Winter so far. Mid-December and we’re still seeing 70’s and 80’s. If you didn’t schedule a maintenance check for the fall you definitely need one now!

We love this weather just as much as you do because it’s a lot more comfortable to be outdoors, climbing roofs and wriggling through attics and crawl spaces this time of year.

And that’s good because now is the time for you to call Daffan Cooling & Heating and have our team of talented techs get your HVAC system ready for the winter. Here are some of the things we’ll do in a typical maintenance check-up to make sure your heating system will be ready for the first signs of chilly weather. Additionally, we’ll check the cooling system to ensure it will be ready to be back up and running when summer returns in 2016.

Maintenance checklist:

  • Check electrical connections and measure voltage and current on motors.
  • Lubricate moving parts as necessary.
  • Inspect the condensate drain in the HVAC system to make sure there are no blockages.
  • Check the start and shut-off controls.
  • Check the thermostat settings.
  • Check gas connections, gas pressure, burner combustion, and heat exchange systems to ensure there are no flaws and that they are operating properly.
  • Inspect and replace air filters as needed.
  • We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about your HVAC system and show you maintenance you can do yourself — like replacing air filters — to keep it operating at top condition throughout the winter.
